With this certification, Mirage now offers a wide range of products made with raw materials from certified forests managed according to strict standards. These materials have been inspected and legally harvested in non-genetically-modified forests where traditional and civil rights are respected. As a hardwood flooring specialist, Mirage made the choice over 20 years ago to partner with responsible wood suppliers. “FSC Mixed Source certification simply confirms their commitment to providing us with the very best natural resources, legally harvested according to best forestry practices,” explained Luc Robitaille, Vice President of Marketing at Boa-Franc, which manufactures the Mirage brand.
“FSC products are highly sought after by architects and designers because they help them earn additional points for LEED certification. And in the last few years, consumers have also started to recognize the added value these products represent. Our FSC Mixed Source certification therefore meets the strong demand for products that satisfy high environmental standards, especially glueless or engineered wood floors such as our Mirage Lock and Mirage Engineered lines,” said Luc Robitaille.
In addition to the FSC Mixed Source certification, Mirage recently obtained PEFC [Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification] certification, which also contributes to sustainable forest development. This proves once again Mirage’s commitment to socially, ecologically, and economically responsible forest management—a commitment that in no way compromises the quality that has made it the leading brand in the hardwood floor industry.
