All wood floors will change shape according to the moisture they are subjected to. Be sure to consult the warranty and installation guide to control the moisture in your home as directed.
There is more than one reason that can cause creaking and noises in a hardwood floor. If the subfloor is not securely fastened to the joists or if the material used is inadequate, the floor may squeak. The noise can also be caused by improper nailing of the boards. Other causes such as excessive or insufficient humidity, unsuitable accessories, movement, and other factors could cause noise.
Individual boards can be replaced without having to remove the entire floor, which is why we recommend keeping leftover wood after installation in case you need it.
