The distinction is based on the publication's annual Award of Excellence survey, in which thousands of floor-covering dealers across Canada and the U. S. vote for the industry's top manufacturer. Participants evaluate brands on key criteria including design, service, value, performance, product reliability, sales professionalism, management responsiveness, customer support, claims handling, and ease of doing business.
